IYPT 2024 – Budapest, Hungary
(10–17 July 2024)
General Information
The 37th IYPT was organized and hosted by the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), the Roland Eötvös Physical Society, and Bosch from 10 July 2024 (arrival day) to 17 July 2024 (departure day). The IOC meeting took place after the tournament, until 19 July 2024.
Finals
The medalists of IYPT 2024 received Bitcoin from Wincent as a prize for their performance in the competition. Congratulations to the winners and thank you Wincent for sponsoring.
Finals 2024
After the fifth selective physics fight the teams of Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Ukraine, and Poland (due to the rule of winning all the PFs) advanced to the finals.
Team Singapore dominated the Finals with a stunning performance, scoring 50.1 points. Ukraine and Poland followed closely, with a narrow margin of just 0.3 points between them, scoring 38.6 and 38.3 points, respectively. The team from Chinese Taipei finished last with 34.9 points.
They presented the following problems:

Ukraine: 15. Wet Scroll
Poland: 6. Non-contact Resistance

From the 16th to the 17th of May the Inspection visit took place in Budapest, Hungary. The IYPT representatives have seen the premises and deemed them to be fit for the upcoming tournament. Detailed information from the meeting can be found in the minutes. The signed contract is here.

Invitation letter: For countries requiring a visa, an invitation letter is necessary, providing confirmation of the purpose of the visit to Hungary. Invitation letters required for visa application can only be sent out after registration in the iypt cc. Please, register as soon as possible and fill out all the mandatory fields.

How to Register as a Juror
First-Time Jurors:
1. Create an account at https://cc.iypt.org/auth/register/
2. Apply as a “Possible juror” here (pick “no-experience”)
3. Once you will be accepted, you will be able to see the role of “First-Time Juror” here
4. First-time Jurors have to pay registration fee of 500 EUR. The registration fee includes accommodation, food for the whole day, and activities connected to IYPT (e.g. excursions, and travel within Budapest, if needed). The fee doesn’t include travel expenses to and from Budapest nor pocket money.
Experienced Jurors:
1. Sign in to your account at https://cc.iypt.org/
2. To apply as an Experienced Juror, please apply as a “Possible juror” here (pick your experience level)
3. Once you are accepted, you will be able to see the role of “Experienced Juror” here
Experienced Juror = previously judged at IYPT, no registration fee

INFORMATION REGARDING IYPT FEES
In the table below one can see the registration fees for the upcoming tournament. The early bird fee will be paid by a team, if they pay by the end of April 2024. After this deadline, the teams must pay the increased fee of 2500 EUR. Please note that the late payment must be agreed with the IYPT office before the early bird deadline.
