‼️Official Statement Regarding “IYPTTutor”‼️

We would like to address recent concerns regarding the YouTube channel “IYPTTutor” (https://www.youtube.com/@jixavier4022). This channel falsely claims to sell solutions and provide insider advantages for the IYPT 2025. We strongly emphasize that IYPT has no affiliation with this channel or its operators.

Furthermore, any claims that members of “IYPTTutor” have been accepted as jurors in the 2025 tournament are entirely false. The selection process for jurors has not yet begun, making such statements both misleading and fraudulent.

The International Young Physicists’ Tournament (IYPT) is a competition that celebrates the hard work, creativity, and achievements of students. We expect all participants to present their own results and solutions, developed through their efforts and teamwork. Engaging with channels like “IYPTTutor” undermines the spirit and integrity of the competition.

We strongly urge the IYPT community to avoid interacting with “IYPTTutor,” refrain from making any payments, and report the channel and its user to YouTube for violating ethical and academic standards.

Thank you for helping us maintain the fairness and authenticity of the IYPT.

Report from the EC meeting

In November, the Executive Committee (EC) met in Lund, Sweden, to discuss key matters related to the organization and future of IYPT.  As a part of their visit, the EC also met with the Local Organizing Committee of this year’s tournament to discuss preparations for the upcoming tournament.

During the visit, the EC looked at the Physics Fight rooms at Lund University, the accommodation in Elite Hotel Ideon and Motel L Lund, where participants will stay, and explored potential excursion sites.

The EC made several important decisions, including recognizing John Balcombe’s lifelong dedication to the IYPT, introducing a confidentiality policy for all committees, and establishing new endorsement rules (you can read these in the attached document).

In the report linked below, you can read about discussions held and decisions made, and see the pictures from key venues for the next tournament:
